Gmbruhs. After another splendid week on Avalanche, I woke up in a pretty good mood this morning. While I did have a few OOPA raffles outperform and ran up the score on Ferdy Flip over the last few days, this is just a small part of the equation.

After 3 weeks of immaculate vibes, we’re continuing on a great trajectory and I’d say that many of you who’ve been here would agree.

For example, Leo and I co-hosted a spaces yesterday and went for a little over 2.5 hours. You can check out the recording here.

I remember months ago where we would struggle to get even 15 folks for an hour - this time, we managed to have almost 150 people tune in over the whole 2.5 hour period while having 30-40 people listen in at any given time. It was excellent. To me, yesterday’s turnout is one of many data points that indicate to me that morale is the highest it’s been in months.

For my ETH maxis who are reading this, I have good news - this ship has not yet sailed. The way I see it, you have two options:

• Take 5 minutes out of your day to bridge to Avalanche, test the waters to see what all the buzz is about. Here’s a comprehensive how-to guide from karrots.eth on how to get started

• Continue to play around on ETH

If you choose the latter, that’s entirely your prerogative. As a former ETH maxi-turned-AVAX-evangelist, I understand the logic behind staying inside of your comfort zone.

However, I do not want to hear any fugazi, bad faith gigacope from any of you. Stay on that side of the fence.

As I said last week, the fact that ETH folks even bother to fud AVAX makes me incredibly bullish.

Since getting involved in web3, I’ve found that in most cases, taking the extra 5-10 minutes to explore something new and different will often lead to the best outcomes. With ETH NFTs capitulating (yes, even penguins *gasp*), now might be the time to experiment.

General Market & Avaissance Update

As it turns out, the last few weeks have not been a fluke.

Usually, I like to show only Joepegs since that’s where the bulk of the volume is trader (they did $280k as of today, a ~13% increase week-over-week). Going forward, I’ll be including other marketplaces like Kalao, Campfire, and others since the Avaissance is coming out strong with an emphasis on generative and 1/1 artwork, which is typically found outside of Joepegs.

Out of the Mona Lisa Fund, Avalabs kicked off with buying some Chikns and Roostrs.

I like how they’re approaching announcing their acquisitions in a relatively transparent fashion. Might be a good idea to keep an eye on their wallet to see what they’re hunting for next.

As far as their DAO / Tastemaker application goes (btw, Tastemaker is a weird term. Should’ve run that by me first), that should go live in the next couple of weeks. My advice to DAOs looking to apply for Avalanche support and funding would be to have clear goals around what your DAO looks to accomplish and a strong thesis on potential acquisitions.

Here are a couple of good examples:

If you’ve proven the ability to think through these things and build a strong DAO to date, you’ll have a good chance getting accepted. However, I don’t expect everyone to be accepted largely because their idea of a “DAO” is not in line with realistic expectations. Regardless, it will be interesting to see who gets accepted and how each DAO decides to allocate funds. Did somebody say $MYBAGS?

Max Adoption For Doggerinos

If you aren’t aware, Doggerinos are finally minting today at 1pm ET. Led by Stupifff (Community Lead for Chad Doge) and Wrathavax (Director of Vibes at Ripperz), Doggerinos is a dynamic NFT collection that will refresh periodically to mimic the feeling of owning a pupper and having it grow up with you along your journey.

I’m also pretty sure that each doggerino in the 2,000 piece collection is individually named. Someone threw out Woofy Goldberg as one of the named doggos - I already know what my grail piece is going to be.

Overall, I love this concept. Who doesn’t like dogs? Sick, twisted, demented people - that’s who.

A Cinderbruhlla Story

Let me start by saying this - if you are not a disciple of the Holy Bruhble by now, I offer you aid in these trying times in the same way that Jesus performed miracles for the less fortunate.

Bruhs have absolutely SENT over the last few days, skyrocketing from a 3 AVAX floor all the way up to 15 (we’re around 10 now).

The new meme paradigm is upon us. From Bruhble verses to freestyles, the Bruhnomenom on AVAX is taking place before our eyes. So much so, that they even hit trending on Opensea Tuesday night and were the #3 most traded AVAX collection this week by volume.

That’s sensational for what started entirely as a meme. What I love is that this isn’t just a flash in the pan - tomorrow, Bruhs will be forked over to a new contract with 0% royalties and new artwork.

Building on top of this momentum is excellent to see and I’m curious to see how things pan out in future. Personally, I’m not anticipating them to become the next blue chip collection but things like this don’t happen by accident. We really are simply having a good time.

Rich Peon, Poor Peon

Peons have been teasing an art update for a while now. Earlier this week, they dropped a snippet of what we can expect them to look like.

I know what you’re thinking: “These aren’t that impressive.” I think it’s worth keeping in mind a few things here.

First - I think that art updates are almost always underwhelming at first, UNTIL they get pushed through the entire collection. We saw this exact thing happen with OOPA when they revealed. Once people cashed in their tokens and got their OOPA, the open mint immediately slammed shut and the project mooned.

Secondly, the top 500 rare Peons will become “Rich” peons and receive a special art upgrade along with some special traits such as Rainbow Mouth. This is where I think the most value will accrue towards. I bought a mid-300 rare yesterday for 25 AVAX and as of this morning, there appear to be a few bargains left in that rarity bracket.

Smol Joes

I waited to drop this newsletter in anticipation of the Smol Joe upgrade details that were published earlier this morning. For those who don’t know, Smol Joes are expanding via consolidation of the original Smol Joes + Smol creeps, which will both be burnt and converted into Smol Joes v2.

In summary:

• Original Smol Joes will cost 5 AVAX to convert into a Smol Joe v2 and receive a unique background designating them as “The Originals”

• Unique Creeps will also cost 5 AVAX and convert into a Luminary

• Bone Creeps will cost 1 AVAX and return 1 Smol Joe

• Gold or Zombie Creeps will cost 2 AVAX and return 2 Smol Joes

• Diamond Creeps will cost 3 AVAX and return 3 Smol Joes

Additionally, they will be increasing the supply at 100 new Joes per month for the first 3 months at a steady rate. This is subject to change based on demand, but overall I like this approach.

Ferdy Fish

As a newly minted official brand ambassador of Ferdy Flip, I had to give them some love this week.

Something is brewing here. With Momind sweeping his own project and dropping hints on the timeline, we need to keep our eyes peeled (or just buy more fish).

Interestingly enough, they had a very similar origin story to Bruhs and decided to crank up the diesel to become one of the best memes and overall collections in the space. They are unequivocally in the upper echelon of AVAX NFTs. At this time, I do not own a Ferdy but I think I’m going to change that fairly soon.

Given his involvement in Ferdy, I wanted to quickly shout out discoinfernos for dropping his new and expanding 1/1 glitch art collection, Disco Fever yesterday.

I was lucky enough to win “Ice-Nine” last night, his first public raffle of the collection. I absolutely love his artwork and his collaboration on Ferdy Fish helps bring their story full circle. Definitely be on the lookout for future drops which should be on the way soon.

Conclusion

I always end up surprised with how much I have to talk about lately. It’s incredibly refreshing to be able to pick and choose topics and projects as opposed having a dearth of options. That’s another way of saying that there’s a lot going on, I’m having a blast, and I hope you are too.
